Music mogul Simon Cowell has revealed that he would jump at the chance to be godfather to Louis Tomlinson's baby although he hasn't been asked yet. 

Tomlinson, of One Direction fame, is expecting his first child with Briana Jungwirth and he appeared on 'The X Factor' with Cowell over the weekend for the judges' houses portion of the TV vocal talent show. 

During a new interview with USA Today, the star was asked if he would accept the position of godfather and confessed that it would be an honour:

"If he asks, I'll do it in a heartbeat. I haven't formally been asked yet, but if he asks me it would be my pleasure." 

Jungwirth's father, Joe, told the Daily Mail back in July that he's very excited to have a grandchild and is excited about the news: "It's the first kid in our family, this will be the first grandkid. Yeah we're excited about it, Briana is doing great I guess. It's a bit of a shock, you know, they're kids, stuff happens, but I'm supporting her. I love her to death and it's all good."
