Simon Cowell on when we might see One Direction "as a group" again

Simon Cowell has revealed that Fifth Harmony have been lined up to perform live on 'America's Got Talent' this summer.

During an interview with Variety, the music mogul explained that it's unlikely One Direction will do anything together as a band for quite some time, but he's excited at the prospect of having the girls perform on the show:

"We’ll have Fifth Harmony definitely this year because they’ve got an album coming out. It will be fantastic to have them on the show. One Direction I don’t think we’ll see as a group for a while now, if I’m being honest with you. But the girls, definitely.”

Back in March, Cowell opened up about 1D's hiatus and told Billboard magazine that he isn't sure if it'll end up being a permanent move: "I don't know if it's a hiatus or a breakup, to be honest. In a weird way, I don't want to know. I don't think they've had enough time to experience what it's like not being in the group to really answer that."

As previously reported, Fifth Harmony's Lauren Jauregui just won Pressparty's Most Inspirational Female of 2016 readers' poll with an incredible 54% of the total vote. Click here to read more. To vote for any of the One Direction boys in our Most Inspirational Male of 2016 poll, click here
