North Easton Gains Loyal Fans with House Concerts

For Immediate Release: November 8, 2016 (Toronto, ON)

Canadian singer songwriter North Easton has been touring for 2 decades with bands Garrity and My Favourite Tragedy and most recently as a solo artist.  It’s as a solo artist that Easton has discovered the intimacy and genuine connections that are created by playing house concerts.

“House concerts are an intimate atmosphere to share stories and perform to a crowd that is there for that purpose,” says Easton.  “The audience at a house concert is particularly respectful and they feel comfortable because they’re at a friend’s house in a gathering where they can sit on a couch and not feel like they have to order a $7 beer.”

Easton’s inspiration for house concerts came from his mother who wasn’t a performing artist, but, she would invite friends over to play guitar and sing at the kitchen table.  “Even as a kid, I would sit on the staircase listening in and hear the fun, the stories, the connection,” explains Easton. “It’s hard to beat the intimacy of a gathering in the comfort of someone’s home.”

With the recent release of his album One of The Lucky Ones, Easton is heading west on a tour which will include bars, café’s, hotels and house concerts.  Based in Ottawa, Ontario, Easton will be playing many shows in celebration of Canada’s 150th in 2017 in addition to another cross-Canada tour for summer festivals and definitely more house concerts.
