Compass is the fragile and strong introduction to singer/songwriter Banner.

Banner. is a singer/songwriter born and raised in The Hague, The Netherlands. Being a self-taught guitarist since the age of fourteen, his songwriting career took off when he was eighteen, performing his songs on small stages. Currently he is studying popmusic at the Herman Brood Academy in The Netherlands with a major in vocals.

Growing up by the sea, for Banner. the horizon is symbolic for a person’s personality: “what you see is the sea, the reflection is what a person shows you and what’s underneath the surface stays hidden.”
 
Compass can be described as creative guitar-fingerpicking indiefolk/pop with a solid instrumental part towards the end. Influences like Queens Of The Stone Age, Fink and Sticky Fingers can be heard, and it also reminisces Radiohead, Pink Floyd and David Sylvian.
 
Compass is being released under new TCBYML sub-label BERT, dedicated to young musical talent. BERT was launched in 2016 and was created especially for Dutch artists and bands. BERT is exciting, challenging, new, enterprising, a feeling, a friend, full of idealism, adventurous and honest.
