Taylor Momsen: “My personal life is not the public's business”

The Pretty Reckless frontwoman Taylor Momsen has revealed that she's tired of people taking photographs of her when she's not on stage because it's easy for people to see her as a 'bad role model' if she is shown doing something like smoking a cigarette.

In a new interview with Kerrang! magazine, the rocker explained that her personal life should stay that way and the music should be what people focus on:

"I don't live my personal life publicly. What I do personally is, frankly, none of your business. If someone takes a picture of me smoking, they call me a bad role model. Believe me, I don''t want to be smoking - it's terrible and I'm trying to quit. But I can't help it. If you put that photo on the internet, that's your fault - you're being a bad role model."

"I'm just an artist. The role model is the music, not me as a person. I'm not here to be your entertainment - the music is. If you really want to learn about my personal life, listen to the songs..."

She also recently spoke out about hiring a children's choir to sing about hell on her band's new record, telling Revolver magazine that the kids were fine with it: "I was like, 'Throw your f**king hands in the air!' and it was really hard not to curse. (I said), 'Scream about what makes you hate and what makes you the angriest in the world. I want you to scream as loud as you can.' By the end of it, they were going crazy."
