The Struts Q&A: “Harry Styles is a fan - he’s always tweeting us”

The Struts are one of Britain's top emerging acts and the rock and rollers are set to release their debut album in July.

Pressparty caught up with bassist Jed Elliott for a quick Q&A about the group and what their future holds.

For those who haven't heard The Struts yet, how would you describe your sound?

Glamorous indie rock and roll.

You're releasing your debut album 'Everybody Wants' on July 28. What should fans expect?

An eclectic mix of high-energy melodic rock and roll music.

The upcoming tour schedule looks pretty hectic. Are The Struts primarily a live act?

Yes - obviously when we're not in the studio we like to play and perform as much as we can. We pride ourselves on our live shows.

You have been pictured in the past with Harry Styles from One Direction. Is he a big fan of the band?

Yes, he's always tweeting us asking about upcoming singles and what not.

His group and other British acts like The Vamps are doing well at the moment, but are The Struts a completely different proposition?

We like to think of ourselves as another alternative but like them, we strive for chart success.

Are there any artists that you would like to collaborate with in the future?

James Bagshaw from Temples would be great. And maybe have an album produced by Jeff Lynne - kids, look him up.

What do you hope the next five years will hold for The Struts?

Gaining more of a worldwide fanbase on top of our loyal British followers and making more albums.
