The Vamps cancel Radio 1 Live Lounge set due to band member illness

'Can We Dance' heartthrobs The Vamps were due to perform for Radio 1's Live Lounge show tomorrow (January 23), but have been forced to pull out because one of the members is unwell.

Frontman Brad Simpson is currently sick and as a result is unable to make the live session, so they have cancelled it. BBC Radio 1 tweeted about the news earlier this afternoon and posted the following message:

"We're sorry to announce that @TheVampsband will not be in the #R1LiveLounge tomorrow due to Brad being ill. Get better soon x"

Simpson then took to his own Twitter page and apologised to the band's fans for letting them down: "Guys, I am so, so sorry about not being able to do the signings and Live Lounge. I thought it would be a good idea to catch the flu on the week 'Wild Heart' is out. Nice one, Brad."

"We would never ever cancel anything unless it was genuine and I've not moved out of bed the past couple of days :( Again, I'm so sorry to the fans, the boys, and Radio 1. I hate letting anyone down, let alone at such late notice."
