The Vamps: 'We don't mind being compared to One Direction, but we're not like them at all'

'Wild Heart' hitmakers The Vamps have admitted that they don't mind being constantly likened to their contemporaries, despite playing instruments and being more of a band than a pop group.

Frontman Bradley Simpson explained that they will always draw comparisons to other all-male groups purely for that reason, but they're not similar in terms of sound to boybands like One Direction: "We don't mind being compared being to bands like One Direction, but I think we're more like McFly."

Member Tristan Evans added that they have previously been mistaken for another group, adding: We were actually mistaken for JLS once - someone on a plane thought we were them. Really odd."

Back in September last year, The Vamps told ITN that being put in the same category as One Direction is inspiring because of the success that the boys have achieved and also because they work so hard:

"I mean, we covered a lot of their stuff early on, like a year ago, and we were lucky to get hits from their covers. So I mean we've kind of built our fans through that, so it's great for us. They work really hard and deserve every success they get. They inspire us with their music, like that type of music, and we like other types of music as well."
