The Vamps' James McVey thinks Ellie Goulding will triumph at BRITs

Hitmaker James McVey, of The Vamps fame, has revealed to Capital FM that he thinks songstress Ellie Goulding will be successful at tonight's (February 19) BRIT Awards.

The 'Starry Eyed' beauty is up for a total of five prizes at the ceremony, including the coveted Best British Single title, and McVey explained that she's had a strong couple of years so hopefully she will clean up and win her categories:

"I think Ellie has been exceptional, well for a couple of years, but especially this past year. I think it's just highlighted how awesome our music industry is so we're proud."

At the end of last year, McVey told his fans on Twitter that he loves Goulding's music and even reached out to her via the social networking platform and asked if she would consider writing with him: "Didn't know @elliegoulding was performing tonight! Can't wait to finally see her live <3 Ellie goulding is frickin' awesome @elliegoulding."

The Vamps, meanwhile, will perform their first headlining show in America later tonight at New York's Gramercy Theatre
