The Vamps' James McVey injures ankle: 'Thanks for your lovely messages'

'Can We Dance' hitmaker James McVey, of The Vamps fame, has revealed that he recently injured his ankle and the pain is making it awkward to move around on.

Writing on his official Twitter page yesterday, the heartthrob warned fans that he might be a little immobile over the next few days because he has hurt his ankle: "I've hurt my ankle pretty bad. I'm obviously still doing all the events this week but please be mindful I can't move very well haha."

Earlier this morning (April 15), McVey returned to the social networking site and reassured his fans that the injury is nothing serious and that he's alright: "Thanks for your lovely messages. I saw a doctor this morning who says it's only sprained. I'll get an X-ray in a few days if it still hurts."

Meanwhile, the lads were recently asked by the BBC about the constant comparisons they receive to boyband One Direction and joked that they have more in common hair-wise than anything else:

"No. They're very successful aren't they? I think we're a very different band in the sense that the music is very different. It's a band layout with us - guitar, drum, bass and lead singer. Hair-wise...maybe there's some similarities."
