The Vamps' James: 'Everyone struggles with feeling low sometimes'

Guitarist James McVey, of The Vamps fame, has revealed that he's inspired by his fans and often amazed that they tell him how much he has helped them through difficult times.

Writing on his official Twitter page this afternoon (April 17), the 'Can We Dance' heartthrob explained that while he has never self-harmed he has definitely gone through difficult times and wants his followers to know that 'it gets better':

"We've all got scars we're trying to hide, we're all the same I guess. Just to confirm, I don't self harm, and never have done. But I've had so many girls tell me recently that I've helped them and I'm so humbled and overwhelmed that I have been able to do this. Everyone struggles with feeling low sometimes, remember that."

He then added: "It's all about how you deal with these time periods, and recognising that nothing should ever be able to keep you feeling down. You can change, and realise that there's a way out of feeling rubbish all the time. Trust me, I did!"

The Vamps, meanwhile, are currently signing autographs for fans at Claire's Accessories on London's Oxford Street, but had to ask everyone to calm down earlier because the session was mobbed and got out of hand. They sent a tweet from their collective account, which read: "PLEASE can you calm down as it's getting dangerous. Police threatening to shut down. We can't even try to start until the doorway is clear."
