The Vamps "weren't expecting" Demi Lovato duet

The Vamps have admitted that having Demi Lovato on their next single was an unexpected turn of events.

The British band recently confirmed that they will releasing a new version of 'Somebody to You' featuring Lovato as their next track.

Speaking to Digital Spy, Connor Ball said that the duet came about after the former X Factor judge was working in a nearby studio in the US.

The bassist said: "We were working in LA with the same producers and she was literally just next door in the studio the same time as us. We were brainstorming for a feature and Demi came up, and then she tracked it the next day."

Bandmate Tristan Evans added: "It's weird. We weren't expecting it. It's Demi Lovato! I bought her album when it came out and now she's on our track."

A normal version of 'Somebody to You' meanwhile features on The Vamps' debut 2014 album 'Meet The Vamps'.
