Heartthrob James McVey, of The Vamps fame, has shared an interview with his fans that quotes him as saying he wouldn't hook up with a fan because they're so young he would be sent to prison and claimed that he never said that. 

Writing on his official Twitter page this evening (June 5), the guitarist explained that it's out of character for him and he hopes his followers understand it's something he would never tell a reporter:

"Just seen this- honestly never said that about you guys. Don't believe everything you hear. Hope you'd have known me better than that too... People are quick to judge and condemn."

The lads are currently in Australia although member Brad Simpson has been struck down with tonsillitis, which he also addressed via his social media page earlier: "Sending my love to the boys who are in Brisbane and powering through, really sorry i couldn't be there. Im there in spirit though. F**k you tonsillitis."
