The Vamps: 'Someone who tries hard to be cool will turn us off'

British pop-rock band The Vamps have revealed that the thing that most turns them off is when girls try too hard to seem cool.

When asked what qualities they all look for in a potential girlfriend, frontman Brad Simpson explained that he likes girls who don't try too hard and who don't pretend to be something they're not:

"Um, I think just someone that's quite... effortless. Like, just easy going and chilled really. I don't think any of us would like someone who's too..."

The band's drummer, Tristan Evans, then added that he likes girls who are comfortable in their own skin and aren't preoccupied with how they look or how they appear to other people: "Modesty is amazing, someone who's really trying to be cool is like, it's such a turn off."

Guitarist James McVey shared a tweet with his followers earlier this week about a girl he had seen in the gym that he was attracted to, and explained that he gets really shy around girls he's interested in:

"There's a girl right in front of me training abs in the gym...She's killing me right now. AHHHH. I am rubbish with girls. #ranawaybecauseiwastooshy."
