The Vamps insist their sound is 'very different' to One Direction

The Vamps have again reiterated that they aren't similar to One Direction.

The Brits are often lumped together with the 'Live While We're Young' hitmakers due to their age and gender.

However, the group told the Daily Mail in a new interview that they are different than One Direction by virtue of their songwriting and musicianship.

Guitarist James McVey said: "We don't really care about the comparisons, but our music is very different. We play instruments and write. However, they are probably the most successful band in the world so we wouldn't say no to their success."

The lads meanwhile teamed up with Demi Lovato for the single version of their track 'Somebody To You' earlier this year and McVey revealed his desire to perform the tune live with the singer in the future.

He said: "We wanted a collaboration with a female and Demi was one of the artists that we wanted to approach. We were working with the same producer in Los Angeles and she liked the song. I think her voice  complements our song really well.

"But we had to leave LA so we weren't actually in the studio together. We met later but that was only for about 10 minutes so hopefully we can actually perform the song together some day."
