The Vamps on fame: 'You can't get too absorbed in it - we're maintaining normality'

'Last Night' hitmakers The Vamps have revealed that they don't let success get to their heads because they want to be able to live normal lives as much as they possibly can.

The band's frontman, Brad Simpson, spoke to Manchester Evening News about their rise to fame and admitted that it doesn't bother them too much, and it's important to stay grounded or it'll start getting to them in a bad way:

"You’ve just got to maintain normality. We’re all musicians, so we’ve got that to focus on and that is what we do. There’s a whole other side of it, that celebrity culture – that is what it is, I don’t mind it. We have incredibly dedicated fans that are amazing to us. You’ve got to take it in your stride; you can’t get too absorbed in it. I think once you do, you kind of lose track of what counts.”

When asked about the band's future plans, Simpson reassured fans that they've only just begun this journey: “We’re not even 10 per cent there in terms of what we’ve got left to give. We feel like we’ve got so much more room to develop and there’s more that we want to show the world. We’re so young as well, it’s really exciting."

He added: "We were so lucky with the success our first album had and the reception it got, but we’re already thinking of the next one and the next tour after this one. You’ll be seeing a lot more of us hopefully.”
