The Vamps' James McVey: 'I always seem to get heartbroken'

The Vamps star James McVey has admitted that he always seems to be the heartbroken one in a love split.

The guitarist said in a blog written for Sugarscape that he feels like he always put a lot into relationships - meaning that he is often left hurt.

McVey said: "Getting your heart broken is something that happens to most of us at some point and I’m not sure I’m very good at giving advice on getting over it, because I always seem to get heartbroken! That said I do think that after feeling like that before, I’ve adopted a new outlook.

"I think it’s really important not to lower your expectations of what love should be and don’t change your morals to try and match someone. If you’re really trying to change yourself or change someone that you really like, then I think it’s probably not the right fit. Just try to stay true to who you are until you find someone who appreciates and respects that, otherwise they probably aren’t the right person for you."

The Brit, who is currently touring the UK with The Vamps, continued: "Do boys worry about girls as much as girls worry about boys? I think that at least for me, I always seem to worry and think about a girl more than she has worried or thought about me! Maybe it’s always just been quite full on when I’ve liked someone.

"I don’t know what it’s like for normal guys, but for me definitely I’m quite emotional and quite intense when I care about someone. I know there’s a lot of guys that play it really cool and stuff but I’m really not like that. When I like someone, then that becomes everything. So, yeah in my experience, boys definitely worry about girls they like too."
