The Vamps open up on 'Hurricane' origins

The Vamps have spoken about how they came to write a song for a Disney film.

The British group recorded the track 'Hurricane' for the soundtrack of new movie Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.

The tune features as a B-side on their recent 'Oh Cecilia' single release and they shot a video for the song in Los Angeles in August.

Speaking to Capital FM about how the tune came about, The Vamps said:

"We got emailed by Disney asking if we'd be interested in writing a song for a movie, but we didn't know what it was about at the time. They sent through an idea of this movie and we wrote the song. And luckily they liked it and made the movie and it's awesome."

James McVey continued: "It's out with 'Cecilia' which is the new song. We decided to put them in a bundle, it's a double a-side. Our music video uses samples from the movie but we had Bella Thorne, who's an actress in the movie, she was my pretend girlfriend. So it was a crossover."
