The Vamps praise Shawn Mendes: 'We really connected with him on tour'

British pop-rockers The Vamps have spoken out in praise of their former tour mate Shawn Mendes, who collaborated with them on their song 'Cecilia'.

Frontman Brad Simpson explained that they bonded on the road and because of the relationship they had formed, they decided to ask him to record the track with them:

"Very cool. He's a lovely kid and we met him on the Austin Mahone tour. He's really nice, he's got a great voice - really talented - and he's kind of like us."

The 'Wild Heart' hitmaker went onto add that it's not common for them to meet other bands or artists and get along so well: "We meet a lot of artists and we don't get the chance to get to know them or connect with them, but we did with everyone on that tour. We asked him to be on 'Cecilia' and he smashed it!"

Mendes, meanwhile, has just announced 'Shawn's Headlines' and told his followers that he wants to perform for as many fans in as many cities as possible: "Tryin' to come to as many new cities as possible this year! #ShawnsFirstHeadlines."
