The Vamps reflect on amazing 12 months: 'It's been a year since our debut album'

British pop-rockers The Vamps released their well-received debut album, entitled 'Meet The Vamps', just over a year ago and have reflected on the successes of the last 12 months.

The heartthrobs, who are currently on a huge arena tour of the UK, took to their collective Twitter page this afternoon and told fans that they can't believe how quickly time has passed since the record dropped on April 14, 2014: "Crazy to think that our album came out over a year ago, time goes by when you're having fun!"

The band, meanwhile, are hard at work on their highly anticipated sophomore album and James McVey told Glasgow's Evening Times that they're really experimenting this time around because they're more established now:

"We're experimenting with some synths though, and we're writing more in the direction of what's happening now in the music industry, so there's elements of guys like Avicii. On the other hand we're looking at guys like Sting and the stuff he did with the Police - the rhythms and some of the guitar work that's on there (by Andy Summers) are great."
