The Vamps on groupies: 'It's important to say no'

Hitmakers The Vamps have opened up about dealing with groupies and admitted that they won't go near girls that are only interested in them because they're musicians or in the public eye because it's simply not their style.

Drummer Tristan Evans revealed that groupies come with the territory but neither him nor the rest of the band are remotely interested in them because it can be so damaging to their careers:

"Yeah, you get those girls like any band. It’s important to say no because even if you don’t do anything but something is captured on camera, suddenly you’ve slept with five groupies in one night. We’re constantly aware of that."

Brad Simpson, The Vamps' frontman, went onto add that most of their fans are very young so they don't have that kind of relationship with them anyway:

"Most of the fans are quite young, so you’ve got to be careful or you’ll be put in prison. Having said that, I went to the cinema the other night and this guy stopped me. He was this big guy, looked like a rugby player, and I thought he was going to rip me to pieces. But he said: “Mate, your album got me through my third year of university. Can I have a photo?” And I was like: “Are you joking?” And he said: “Honestly, man. I love your tunes.” So I said: “Yes! Of course you can have a photo! You can have 20 photos!”"
