The Vamps' James gives advice on returning to school after summer

Musician James McVey, of The Vamps fame, has revealed that he was bullied at school and wants his fans to know that he understands how hard it can be.

When asked by Anti-bullying Pro if he has any useful advice for anyone returning to school after the summer holidays, McVey said:

“I always looked forward to new classes and new people. I think the best piece of advice I could give would be to start school after the summer as a fresh."

He added: "Any grudges you may have had with people before the summer will have hopefully blown over throughout the six weeks off, and you have a real opportunity to gel with new people as well.”

“I think it's important to know that after school ends, you never need to see the bullies again; the likelihood is they will not achieve academically, and probably pick on others for this reason. It's important to really hit the nail on the head with the bullying- I didn't, and I regret it majorly. Speak to teachers. I know that's not easy, but they're the people who can REALLY make arrangements at school that can end it. Good luck, you're not alone.”
