The Vamps' 'Wake Up' No.1 on midweek UK singles chart

The Vamps are on course to land their first UK No.1 single.

The group released 'Wake Up' on Friday (October 2) - the lead track on their upcoming album of the same name.

The Official Charts Company revealed today (October 5) that the tune is currently at No.1 on their midweek update.

The Vamps have previously peaked at No.2 in the UK with 'Can We Dance' in 2013 and 'Last Night' in 2014.

At No.2 is Philip George's 'Alone No More', which rockets up 122 places.

Justin Bieber's 'What Do You Mean?' slips one place to No.3, while R.City's 'Locked Away' similarly falls to No.4.

Sam Smith's James Bond theme 'Writing's On The Wall' drops from No.1 to No.5.

Natalie La Rose is set to achieve the week's second highest new entry, with her track 'Around The World' resting at No.7.
