The Vamps pay tribute to label staff killed in Paris attack

The Vamps have paid tribute to two Universal Music staff who were killed in Friday's (November 13) Paris terror attacks.

A total of 129 people died after seven separate attacks took place across the French capital.

89 people were killed during an Eagles of Death Metal concert at the venue Bataclan.

Two of the deceased were Universal Music staff members Marie Mosser and Thomas Ayad.

The Vamps paid tribute to the duo, who helped the band in France, on Facebook at the weekend.

They wrote: "We want to pass on our deepest condolences to the families and friends of Thomas and Marie who were a huge part of The Vamps team in France and who tragically passed away Friday night in Paris.

"They will be sorely missed by us and all that knew them. Brad, James, Connor and Tristan."

Universal Music Group chairman Lucian Grainge meanwhile confirmed in a statement the passing of Ayad.

He added that a number of other Universal staff were also in the building at the time.

"This is especially painful and personal for all of us.

"At this point, we have confirmed that Thomas Ayad, an international product manager for Mercury Records, lost his life in the attack on the theatre.

"This is an unspeakably appalling tragedy. I cannot even begin to express the depth of my sorrow.

"On behalf of everyone at UMG, we extend our most profound sympathies to his parents and all of his friends and family. Today is a dark day."

Eagles of Death Metal's merchandise manager Nick Alexander was also killed.

The band escaped unhurt after fleeing the stage when gunfire rang out.

A number of acts touring in France and Europe have pulled shows in the region, such as Foo Fighters, U2 and Motorhead.
