The Vamps on their 18-month break: 'It felt like less time than that'

'Can We Dance' hitmakers The Vamps have revealed that it was nice to take a year and a half out between releasing albums, but it didn't feel like much of a break.

Speaking to Notion magazine about taking a break, the lads admitted that the time went really quickly and they still did a few things here and there:

"It's been a year and a half, but that time seemed like so much less for us, because we've been working non-stop. We didn't really have a break. I guess some bands wait years (between albums) but we did a song for a Disney movie in the meantime. It probably felt to the rest of the world that we were being really active but to us, we'd already wound down."

During the interview, the lads also opened up about their influences for album two and added that they were all wrapped up in the pop world: "We listened to Taylor Swift’s 1989, but also stuff like MGMT. We've been writing similar songs melodically, but incorporating different things too."

The Vamps are nominated in Pressparty's end of year reader's poll in the Best Album os 2015, Most Anticipated Tour of 2016, Favourite Male, and Best Musical Act of 2015 categories. To vote for them you can click here. The poll ends on December 31 at 8pm UK time.
