The Vamps' James: 'I wouldn't have done this band without Taylor Swift'

James McVey, of The Vamps fame, has spoken out about his excitement over opening for Taylor Swift on her forthcoming 5-night London residency as he is a huge fan of her music.

Last month, the heartthrob exclusively told Pressparty that she's his ultimate celebrity crush and his band has now been added to the bill for five nights at the O2 Arena next February.

He took to his official Twitter page in the early hours of this morning and confessed that he's nervous to play the same concerts as her because he doesn't want her to think he's weird or a complete "fan girl": "I hope @taylorswift13 doesn't think I'm totally weird when I fan girl every time I see her... And is it weird that all I listen to is @taylorswift13 and know all words to every song?"

McVey then credited Swift with the motivation and drive to be a part of The Vamps, adding that without her for inspiration he may never have joined: "I mean I wouldn't have done this band without her."

The 'Can We Dance' hitmakers will open for the 'I Knew You Were Trouble' beauty on February 1, 2, 4, 10 and 11 at the huge London venue and tickets for all dates are now on sale.
