Gary Barlow says Louis Walsh "doesn't really care" about his X Factor acts

Gary Barlow thinks that Louis Walsh "doesn't really care" about his acts on The X Factor and is more of a hindrance than a help to the careers of his talent show hopefuls.

In an exclusive interview with this week's Heat magazine, the Take That singer-songwriter opens up about his fellow judge's ability to represent his acts and explains that Walsh doesn't take his role seriously:

"I think I have seen him once at the house with the contestants. He is in Dublin all week. He doesn't really care. For someone who's been there for eight years, he's got some pretty bad habits."

"Louis' song choices are the biggest worry for his acts. But Johnny's version of The Darkness' I Believe In A Thing Called Love two weeks ago was very entertaining."

He also divulged that any tension that comes across on screen is very much real although he doesn't personally "get involved in any backstage gossip":

"Everyone is fiercely protective [of their acts], so it gets quite heated. It's real."
