X Factor results show named UK's second most watched programme of 2011

The results of the X Factor final has been named the second most watched programme in the UK in 2011.

The BBC reports the show - which was held on December 11 and saw girl group Little Mix crowned winners - racked up 13.46m viewers, according to data collated by Barb.

However, it wasn't popular enough to trump Prince William and Kate Middleton's Royal Wedding, which was watched by 13.59m people.

Nevertheless, a judges' houses episode of the X Factor shown in October landed at No.4 on the list with 12.92m viewers.

Elsewhere on the list, the Strictly Come Dancing final was named the third most watched programme of 2011 with 13.34m viewers, whilst the Britain's Got Talent finale was watched by 12.22m.
