X-Factor finalist Lucy Spraggan has been ruled out of tonight’s live show after becoming too ill to perform.

The 21-year-old, who was last seen in public on Wednesday night at Rylan Clark’s Halloween-themed party dressed as a pumpkin, is reportedly suffering from flu.

And earlier today, the ITV show’s official Twitter account confirmed that she will now receive a bye to next week’s fifth round:

"NEWS: @lspraggan is just too unwell to perform on tonight's #xfactor

"Lucy will proceed to next weekend's show as happened with @diana_music [past contestant Diana Vickers]."

Diana Vickers was given the same treatment in 2008 when she was allowed to progress to the sixth round without being subjected to the public vote following a battle with laryngitis.
