X Factor contestant James Arthur plans to take Xtra Factor co-presenter Caroline Flack on a date after the show ends later this month.

The pair's onscreen flirting hasn't gone unnoticed on the singing series, with much speculation surrounding whether Flack and Arthur will ever get together.

In a revealing interview with new! magazine, Arthur admitted he'd like to get to know the TV star better once he's finished on The X Factor.

He said: "Yeah why not? I think she's attractive. She's funny. I'd definitely take her out for a drink."

Flack's co-presenter and singer Olly Murs said Arthur has a certain way with the ladies and the X Factor favourite has explained why.

He said: "I grew up in a house full of women. I've got four sisters so I understand women. I know how they think and I just treat them with respect. That gets you a long way."
