Drawing influence from an African tradition of rhythms and harmony merged with elements of left-field electronica they create a unique sound that is emotionally powerful and rhythmically captivating. The band is made up of ex Dirty Skirts lead singer Jeremy de Tolly (vocals, synths) and Tom Glendinning (Ableton Live). For their live show they are joined by Frank Latter (visuals). The live show includes projected visuals that tightly integrate with the music via MIDI & audio sync. They work behind the scenes to create their own visual material through design, code & film as well as sourcing the highest quality content from world-class collaborators.

Original Swimming Party was formed in 2013, in 2014 they released The Blue EP followed by wavs in 2015. October will see them release their album Hypergiant. ‘Skin Upon Skin’ is the follow up to their anti-colonial April single ‘Life In The Colony’. Says de Tolly “’Skin Upon Skin’ is an emotional, sexy, beat-heavy mashup of new African dance grooves with experimental electronica. Its soaring chorus sings a story of loneliness, of being single and never finding love, and somehow finding the light in that.” The release of ‘Skin Upon Skin’ coincides with Original Swimming Party’s launch of a two week Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign to raise funds for their Hypergiant Audio / Visual Tour. The campaign gives fans an opportunity to be a part of the development of live visual content for Original Swimming Party’s audio / visual show. The show will be toured in South Africa, before being taken to Europe and North America in November 2016.

“The band is rewarding fans who donate with exclusive content, early access album downloads, free access to shows, ringtones designed by the band, beautifully designed merchandise and more” explains Tom Glendinning. Go to http://bit.ly/support-osp for more info.
