South African rapper Crytpkeeper releases second single off mixtape - 'SHINE'

SOUTH AFRICAN hip-hop artist, Crytpkeeper, releases the official second single off his second hip-hop project, ‘Bete Noire’, the infectious and melodic, ‘SHINE’.

Cryptkeeper has been busy dropping official singles and non-official singles, all in anticipation of the full release of his mixtape.

When it comes to an iron clad dedication to his craft, his music and his incessant desire to learn more, self taught / self made hip-hop artist Cryptkeeper is a one of a kind entrepreneurial artist – always pushing the boundaries of his musical goals and achievements and paving a path for himself in an industry that is tough with competitors.

SHINE was produced By Black Rose Beatz (Schwerin (Germany) Mixed by Studio Next Door (Brooklyn, Pretoria, South Africa) and Mastered By AdgMastering. (Toronto, Canada). Recorded at Iron Clad Ink studio, Kgabalatsane, North West and One Big Room Studio, Silverton Ridge, Pretoria. SHINE just evolved naturally, says Cryptkeeper.

“I got the beat and knew instantly I might have a gem but I'm going to need help. I decided to call up my good friend Ludwig Bouwer of "Azurdee and River Band" here in Pretoria. She liked the beat instantly said it reminded her of pop singles from the likes of Rihanna. Really, I left up to her to find the chorus, gave a month or so we recorded the chorus and it all came together perfectly."

All Cryptkeeper’s songs are personal and driven by his own life story. No one can tell the story better than he can and this feeds his passion and hunger to feed the masses and make a mark with his musical skills. SHINE is taken off the brand new album ‘Bete Noire’.

This album is the second Full Length Cryptkeeper Project – his previous one being the 2015 released ‘Mind The Hill,’ which featured the singles ‘Will You Be There?’ and ‘Raise The Flag Up, both which had extensive radio play on prominent stations in South Africa. ‘Bete Noire’ is an English idiom for something strongly detested and in French literally translates to "Black Beast." Most of the songs off this new album revolve around highlighting social injustices. Some tracks also deal with Cryptkeeper’s own persona as an artist and whether he is the hero of the story or just another villain. What can we expect from the album?

“Good music, a couple of feel good songs, some songs penned solely to adjust the listeners moral compass, new school, trap a bit of boom bap and a lot of entertainment,” says Crytpkeeper.

Cryptkeeper’s rapping style is inspired by 2Pac, Nas, Cage, Eminem, Talib Kweli and Lupe Fiasco. It applies complex rhyme schemes, syncopation, clear enunciation, infused with humor. Tshepo’s Musical Style incorporates conscious rap with a commercial appeal, piano driven hip-hop / trap tracks with a touch of pop rock influence.
