SOUTH AFRICAN ARTIST LOUI LVNDN RELEASES 'KILL HER KILLER' FROM DEBUT ALBUM

LOUI LVNDN RELEASES SINGLE 'KILL HER KILLER
ALBUM – ‘YOUR PRINCESS IS IN ANOTHER CASTLE’
ITUNES 21 JULY / CD 24 JULY / ITUNES PRE ORDER 23 JUNE

Loui Lvndn, (pronounced “London”) is a singer, songwriter, rapper, performing artist, visual artist and writer. He has since evolved into the genre defying and genre unifying art/fun house he is today.  The highly anticipated single ‘Kill Her Killer’ from his debut album ‘Your Princess Is In Another Castle’ had an exclusive first play on 23 June on 5fm. This is what they had to say – “Did you hear Roger Goode spin the exclusive new Loui Lvndn banger this morning on 5FM? We foresee big things in store for this guy”.

Loui (real name Lutho Mtyamde) comes from a diverse musical palette, influenced by an array of genres from the likes of Jimmy Hendrix, Queens of the Stone Age, Highly Suspect, The Mars Volta, Arctic Monkeys, Red Hot Chilli Peppers to Michael Jackson, Brand, Boys to Men, SWV stretching to Michael Franks and Simphiwe Dana. A fan of Hip Hop music in general, Loui’s inspirations reveal the broad understanding of music as a whole and that which he creates.

As a then independent artist published by Sony/ATV, Loui Lvndn self-released his debut EP Hikari ("the light") in mid-2016. A kaleidoscope of bespoke musical brilliance that features the likes of South African raised, Europe breakout  artists Petite Noir and Spoek Mathambo. The project, subsequently picked up by Gallo Record Company, along with an Artist deal for Lvndn, received esteemed reviews from many platforms including the international magazine Afropunk,  Between10and5, The Citizen, Superbalist, They Know, Don't Party, Texxandthecity and many more.

Loui Lvndn is now set to release his full-length debut album titled ‘Your Princess Is In Another Castle’. Inspired by Super Mario and his futile quest to save his princess from the clutches of Doom, Loui explores the repetition faced in playing the actual game for days, slaying the devils, clearing the levels, only to be told after each painstaking stage that ”Your Princess Is In Another Castle.” Using this as a metaphor Loui explores the pursuit of happiness (and most of all – love) in a Novella styled album that details his quest and failure in a linear track-by-track narrative.

Even the album artwork (Art Directed and designed by Lvndn in collaboration with a photographer and design consultants) futurises the Mario setting and made Loui the main character traversing the digital plain where his journey takes place. The neon colours, short of pixels, elude to the video game theme and plain in which the album is set.

Lvndn (pronounced ‘London’) has given live performances all over JHB both as a solo act and with a live band from STRCRD,  Great Dane, King Kong, Alexander Theatre, OST, & Kitcheners  where he screened his debut music video for his breakthrough  song ‘Drugs’ which he wrote, directed and edited himself. He has also performed at Oppikoppi 14, Rocking The Daisies 16,  Rayban’s Jozi on Fire at Openroom Studios and at the 2014 4/20  bloc party. Loui has also done shows in Cape Town at venues like Biergarten and Assembly. He has also played live on regional and national radio stations like Yfm for their Live n Rewired and 5fm’s 5 Live and recently played on the internationally acclaimed Balcony TV.

The fresh and exciting Loui Lvndn sound has been compared to that of Pharrel Williams and N.E.R.D, Lenny Kravitz, Kid Cudi and even Kendrick Lamar among other greats by those enthusiasts who unanimously appreciate the wunderkind as World Class South African talent shooting for the moon
