Tinie Tempah has become the first UK rap artist to go Platinum in the U.S with his debut stateside single, 'Written In The Stars'. 

EMI confirmed last night, May 18, that he shifted more than 1 million copies of the track in America which is enough to be given a Platinum certification. Tinie tweeted about the exciting news and wrote:

"1,000,000 Copies of Written in the Stars ft @EricTurner Sold in the US!! PLATINUM Baby...Thank You! #DISCOVERYOUT2MORROW"
