Tom Odell: 'I started singing because I couldn't ever get the girls'

Musician Tom Odell has revealed that he wasn't really a singer to begin with, but soon saw the benefits.

Talking to James Corden on The Late Late Show, Odell explained that he never considered himself to be a singer so didn't really anticipate becoming famous in the way that he has:

"I'd written a lot of songs and I'd never really thought of myself much as a singer. And I was trying to get people to sing them but it was becoming difficult, I didn't know that many singers where I came from in Chichester (English city),... Not much show business goes on there."

He went onto add that becoming a singer made him appear more sexy to women, so it was a win-win situation: "I'm not naturally one that would sit at the party with his guitar, trying to woo the girls. I started singing because I couldn't ever get the girls."
