De La Soul have confirmed that they are working to get a new album out this year.

Having released the second in their ‘Art Official Intelligence’ trilogy in 2001, Maseo says they understand that fans are getting impatient.

“We're definitely gonna come out with 'Art Official Intelligence III,'” he told Pedestrian TV. “The fans have been yearning for that. So we're going to put out music and we're going to continue to tour. That's what I'm here to do.”

As to when exactly the record will be released, he couldn’t say, adding: “De La Soul never puts a date and time on art. But we will promise you a quality product and we will promise you a record this year.”
