LCD Soundsystem say goodbye

LCD Soundsystem played their final ever gig on Saturday night in Madison Square Garden, New York City.

“So this is a very weird experience for us,” frontman James Murphy told the audience. “In keeping with the history of our band we hope it’s going to be a weird experience for everybody.”

During the three and a half hour set, the dance outfit played 29 songs, old, new and rare, and were joined on stage by members of Arcade Fire, Shit Robot and Reggie Watts.

After playing their final song, an emotional rendition of ‘New York I Love You But You’re Bring Me Down,’ the band was seen hugging friends and family at the side of the stage.
