Carrie Underwood’s box office success
Carrie Underwood’s debut movie took in over $10.6million at the box office this weekend.
In ‘Soul Surfer,’ the country star plays a church leader who offers guidance to 13-year-old surfer Bethany Hamilton, played by AnnaSophia Robb, after she loses her arm in a shark attack. The film, which is based on a true story, co-stars Dennis Quaid and Helen Hunt.
"Being a part of this was like wow, this is a perfect platform for me to do a lot," says Underwood. “If a few of my fans come to see the movie because I'm in it and learn about Bethany and how they can apply these things to their lives, it's totally worth it."
