U2 to premiere new song during Super Bowl

U2 have announced that they will debut a new charity song during next month's Super Bowl.

The Irish group will showcase the track 'Invisible' during a Bank of America advert for Bono's (RED) aids campaign at the American football event on February 2.

The song will be available to download for free for one day after its debut, with the Bank of America donating $1 from each download to charity.

The group benefiting from the scheme, which is capped at $2 million, is Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

Bono commented on the announcement: "Bank of America coming on as a (RED) partner to help the Global Fund's efforts to eliminate AIDS is great new. It's the kind of game-changing influence that will not just deliver millions of dollars but raise consciousness and keep public pressure on putting an end to this devastating pandemic which has already taken the lives of 35 million people. And just in...the bank's commitment of $10 million has resulted in the Gates Foundation, SAP and Africa's Motsepe Family matching for a total of $22 million (£13.2m). Incredible!"

'Invisible' meanwhile is expected to feature U2's upcoming new album.
