U2 deny they will help launch Apple's iPhone 6

U2 have dismissed reports that they are teaming up with Apple.

There has been rumours circulating recently that suggest that Irish rockers will release their next album in conjunction with the new iPhone 6.

Alternatively, it has also been said that the band will perform at the launch of the new smartphone.

However, a rep for U2 has denied the gossip. They said:

"They are not releasing their album on the iPhone, and they are not performing at the iPhone launch."

The iPhone 6 is expected to be launched on September 9.

U2's label boss meanwhile recently told Billboard that they expect a new U2 album to land in the near future.

Interscope chairman John Janick said: "We hope to have it out some time this year, and to have [the music] shortly."
