U2 to perform at MTV EMAs

U2 are the latest act to be added to the MTV EMAs.

The Irish rockers will perform at the ceremony on Sunday (November 9) at Glasgow's Hydro arena.

It will be the band's fourth time performing at the EMAs, with their last slot coming in 2009.

They join a bill that already features acts like Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran and Enrique Iglesias.

Glasgow City Council leader, Gordon Matheson, meanwhile commented:

"Today's exciting announcement that U2 - one of the biggest names in music - is to join the incredible list of acts already confirmed to perform at the MTV EMA this weekend will come as welcome news to music fans across the city.

"In a little over 48 hours' time, this year's EMA will showcase Glasgow to more than half a billion households through MTV's global network of channels, reinforcing our enviable reputation as a world-class music destination."

The EMAs are expected to bring £10m into Glasgow's economy.
