Union J say the likes of Taylor Swift and Little Mix have influenced their second album.

The British group released their first self-titled album last year after finishing fourth on the UK X Factor in 2012.

The boyband are expected to release their sophomore effort later this year and George Shelley told Capital FM that some female acts have inspired their sound.

He said: "[It's] uptempo. It's kind of got a country twist to it. If you can imagine Taylor Swift meets Little Mix meets Union J."

Bandmate Jaymi Hensley added: "I think we've had like a month or so off now to get back to who we really are without the whole of last year's campaign and who we were on X Factor."
