Singer Jaymi Hensley, of Union J fame, has revealed that he came out as gay to his father after they bumped into each other while he was on a date with a guy who was 'really camp'. 

Speaking to 'BBC Three's Sweat The Small Stuff', the heartthrob explained that it wasn't quite the moment he imagined:

"I started dating this guy and we went for dinner in this restaurant. I wasn't out then, so I was just trying to be like we're just friends, sit next to me, don't sit opposite me. Then my dad came to the restaurant with his girlfriend and sat on the table next to us."

"I was like, 'Hi Dad, this is my boyfriend'. Dad didn't know I was gay. That's how my dad found out. The guy was really camp so there was no trying to hide it, it's not like, 'This is my friend from football'."

Earlier this month, meanwhile, the boys admitted that they want to enjoy longevity with their group: "We never wanted to be one-hit wonders. We want longevity. We want to be like Take That or Westlife and be around for years, that’s what we hope to do."
