Union J to self-fund new album: 'We're not kids anymore'

Hitmakers Union J have revealed that they will be funding their forthcoming new album themselves because they want to be taken seriously in the music industry.

During an interview with The Mirror newspaper, member Jaymi Hensley explained that although they released their last two records through Sony, this next one will be independently created

"We haven't jumped straight back into another deal where the album's all done for us. What we want to do is write an album and go back and say 'this is who we want to be.'"

"We've got a manager, we've got a publisher, and our label still helps us, but you've got to invest in yourself. Being on a major label is amazing, but if you swap around too much people don't get you. We're doing it off our own back. We're not kids any more. We want to be taken seriously."
