Union J star: 'We want to make our own sound'

Union J singer Jaymi Hensley says the band are hoping to spend time moulding their "own sound".

The group have released two albums since finding fame on the X Factor in 2012.

They have recently been plagued by split rumours after their last effort record only reached No.28 in the UK.

Speaking to the Mirror, Hensley said that the quartet have now taken on a new maturity.

He said: "We're not kids anymore and we want to make our own sound."

The singer added about rumours of being the 'next Rylan Clark' by going into TV:

"I think it's great that as a band, Union J all have our own solo projects so we can all branch out and work on our passions.

"Rylan is absolutely smashing it at the moment and I have no plans to replace him in any shape or form, he's a great friend to me.

"I'm working with gay charities, Djing and also doing TV. I am not sure what my dream presenting role would be but I do love panel shows."
