2016 is stacking up to be another incredible year for James Bay. Only last week, the BRITs ‘British Male Solo Artist’ and Grammy nominated singer, songwriter and guitarist was announced as the winner of the Ivor Novello for the PRS For Music Most Performed Work for his multi - million selling single, Hold Back The River.

Now Bay releases new single ‘Craving‘ the opening track on his 2 million global selling debut album ‘Chaos and the Calm’ impacting on July 15th . It’s a big bold statement of intent, with pounding drums, driving guitar and James’s impassioned vocals ; it’s this small town boy’s song about escape.

“I wrote Craving just before I moved out of Hitchin. I'd been working in this bar far too long – it was a year, which I know isn't exactly a lifetime, but it felt like it. So it was very literally my song about craving something new.”

A huge Rolling Stones fan, last month James was invited by the BBC to preview the Rolling Stones Exhibition ‘Exhibitionism’ for a programme for the BBC iPlayer. Having met Ronnie and Keith last year, Ronnie subsequently joined James on stage on the first night of his sold out run of Brixton shows last October for a rendition of  the Faces ‘I’m Losing You’.

Bay also visited the US where he played a sold out Spring tour stopping off at the legendary Coachella music festival and performed  ‘Let it Go’ on Jimmy Kimmel. The 25 year old has just announced his third U.S tour for September where the album is now certified Gold with over half a million sales.

In the UK James will headline a number of UK festivals this summer including Bristol Summer series, Cannock Forest, Mouth of the Tyne Festival, and Boardmasters. as well as playing prolific slots at T in the Park and Wildlife. Full dates below.

2015 truly was James Bay’s year. His debut album Chaos and The Calm entered the UK charts at No.1 last March, remained in the UK top 20 for a staggering 40 weeks and is certified double platinum. The album was Spotify’s 2nd most streamed album of 2015 behind The Weeknd and two singles, the stunning Let it Go and the breakthrough hit Hold back the River  have been certified double platinum with over 2 million singles sold, 87 million UK streams and accumulated video views of 200 million.
