The Dreaming Tree return, not with a new album this time, but with a new single ‘Kosovo’, taken from previous album ‘Silverfade’ and boasting the bands first ever official video !

At the heart of the song are themes of war, genocide and the way the media reports on this. The video progresses chronologically from modern day through to defining moments of both war and peace of the 20th century, passing

through some of the horrors of war and the sacrifices people have made for peace until it reaches a desolated climax where man has wiped out the population.

The band began in 2003 with guitarist Dan Jones joining singer Chris Buckler, drummer Neil Ablard, keyboardist Steve Barratt and bassist Jim Peterson in their current covers/originals band. They quickly decided to focus on original material, as their early sessions had seen a gamut of different ideas and songs pouring forth, and all were worth exploring more than yet another Deep Purple cover...

Quickly amassing around 30 songs, the band threw their material at any audience willing to listen, in a variety of venues from the tiniest club to large stages. These songs and experiences formed the basis for the first album the band would record, ‘Grafting Lines and Spreading Rumours’, which was released in 2006.

Since then, the band has recorded an acoustic album, ‘How To Sound Good Naked’, followed ‘Grafting Lines’ with 2010’s ‘Progress Has No Patience’, and seen new bassist Neil Simpson arrive.

Along the way, they’ve picked up favourable reviews in Classic Rock,  Prog magazine, Fireworks and Progression Magazine (USA), as well as receiving airplay from European radio, internet stations and that nice Tom Robinson on BBC 6 Music. They have also played festivals in the UK and Germany, and got a ‘Critics Choice’ top 20 rating in Classic Rock magazine.

With a new album distribution deal in place with QEDG Music/Cherry Red Records, The Dreaming Tree are now looking to take the new album Silverfade out on the road to appease the fans! Before the realisation sets in that it’s been another five years since the last recording and they need to start the cycle again...
