Will.i.am has confirmed plans to release a range of glasses.

The US singer is teaming up with George Gorrow to give creative direction to an eyewear series called ill.i Optics.

The pieces will go on sale from September. Will.i.am commented:

"I see a gap in the world of eyewear and this is my instalment of what I feel is missing. I want this to be an honest brand - it's about dedication and passion."

Items due to be included in the range include 1980s hip-hop inspired glasses for men and women.

Will.i.am has also unleashed a promotional video for the range.
