Will.i.am says Rita Ora addition encouraged him to stay on as Voice coach

Will.i.am has suggested that he might have quit The Voice UK if it wasn't for the appointment of Rita Ora.

The 'Hot Right Now' star was this week confirmed as the replacement for departing coach Kylie Minogue.

Speaking at the launch of his bespoke Lexus NX car, which the US star helped design, fellow coach will.i.am said that Ora's arrival was a boost for the show.

He told the Mirror: "If it wasn't Rita, I wouldn't have done it. So I'm happy that it's Rita. Because when Kylie left I was like, 'Who else are you going to get?'."

Speaking in a statement at the time of Ora's appointment, the US star said:

"Season four of The Voice is going to be amazing! Tom Jones is our rock, Ricky is awesome and it's our pleasure to welcome the very talented Rita Ora. Rita is sweet, spicy and sassy - she's going to be a great addition to the coaches team."

The fourth series of The Voice UK will air on BBC One early next year.
