The Voice's Will.i.am supported Rita Ora through X Factor move

The Voice coach will.i.am says he supported Rita Ora's decision to leave the show for the X Factor.

The singer jumped ship earlier this year to join up with Simon Cowell et al on the rival ITV show.

Speaking to the Daily Star at the premiere of new James Bond film Spectre in London on Monday (October 26), will.i.am said he didn't lose respect for Ora.

In fact, she asked him for advice before the big move. Will.i.am said:

"I don't feel Rita has betrayed me.

"Before she signed up she called me and asked for my opinion. Not approval though, my opinion and I thought it was dope.

"I just said that's dope, how much did you get paid? Awesome!"

Long-time coach Sir Tom Jones has also left The Voice, while will.i.am and Ricky Wilson have stayed put.

Boy George and Paloma Faith have been added to the line-up ahead of its new series, which is due to be aired in early 2016.
